ABOUT PAM PAM

Pam is the Founder and CEO of Pam Pam Entertainment. A filmmaker,
producer, songwriter, composer of movies and music, even back
in the day she was learning how to multitask. Not only was
she the lead student reporter, photographer, and photo-lab
technician at Hogan High School in Vallejo, Ca. where she graduated,
she also played the clarinet, tenor sax & drums in her
High School band. Her love for music grew with every life experience,
giving her the passion to words that now romances crowds from
the San Francisco Bay Area to Southern Sudan, Africa.
Pam Pam, a "renaissance woman," believed that the
stories of Black folks should be filmed, directed, and produced
by the folks in and beyond the struggle. So she began her journey
through the eye of a lens 7 years ago. The visibility of a
natural plus-size black women was not available, so theimposingfigure
came into existence.
A survivor of domestic violence, she became an advocate for
peace and health educator/conductor in prevention and intervention
of African American health disparities, violence and HIV/AIDS.
She is the Chair of the SF
Violence Prevention Network and on the Board of Directors
of the Idriss
Stelley Foundation (ISF).
Pam Pam founded The
Peacemakers/Operation Save A Life in November, 2003.
The Peacemakers meet every friday night @7:00 pm on the corner
of Sunnydale and Hahn in San Francisco between the two neighborhood "Up-da
hill" &"Down-the hill" gangs. They also
meet every 2nd Saturday of the month @1:00 for a Community
BBQ. This block was called "Dodge city" at the
height of the drug wars 25 years ago, when thousands of young
Black men lost there lives to gun violence, drug dealing
and gambling. Operation Save a Life/Peacemakers believe in
meeting people where they are, and by any means necessary.
We meet our communities with culture: i.e. drums, singing,
spiritual or spoken word. We also provide referral services,
grief and spiritual counseling on the Block. Pam Pam's activism
and advocacy work was awarded the 2004 Unsung Hero Award
from The San Francisco Public Library for her accomplishments
in the community and in Sudan.
Is there a progressive side of the Democratic
Party? is her next film to be released. Pam
Pam also filmed and sang with the children of the Holy
Cross Choir in Sudan, "Returning with the Patience
of Job, and the Passion of Christ." Pam Pam's appreciation
for her African heritage and Black American life was acclaimed.
This Peacemaker states that living in So-Sudan for a month
was a reality check, spiritually and culturally.
"I felt that my eyes opened for the first time."
